    About the Ebook

An autobiographical reference book about the life and times of Vladimir Vladimirovitch Mouravieff-Apostol-Korobyine, a russian nobleman and diplomat who lived from 1864 to 1937. His great uncle was the last of the famous Decembrists and his paternal ancestry is traced back to Genghis Khan.

His diplomatic postings prior to the Great War in places like Berlin, Serbia and Budapest provide interesting insights to those turbulent times. The book takes his life as he remembers it from his infancy through his college days and on through his career as a diplomat in the service of both Czar Alexander III and Nicholas II.

His divorce is barely mentioned but his second marriage to the daughter of one of Russia's wealthiest scions forms the nucleus of this love story. Throughout the book are familiar names like Pushkin, Tolstoy, Grand Duke Michael, Czar Nicholas II, Kaiser Wilhelm and others with whom he had more than just a passing familiarity.

This is a personal insight into a very turbulent time in our history from the unique perspective of an aristocrat who would lose nearly all his immense wealth but not his desire to help his fellow man.
