About
Paul’s love of photography began in high school. However, his love for the railroad led him to follow his father and began working for the L&N Railroad. Paul worked many crafts but finally became a Railroad Engineer. The area of his railroad service was along the Gulf Coast: The NO&M division (New Orleans & Mobile). By the way, his camera was his constant companion.
After Hurricane Katrina wrecked the NO&M Division, Paul bid on the job that rebuilt the rail lines from New Orleans to Mobile. With his camera he documented the storm’s disastrous effects and created a photography book of the before and after scenes of the effected coastal areas. He was there during the entire rebuild taking photos from the start to the final reopening of the rail service.
Paul retired from the railroad in 2011, but not from photography. He was, finally, free to invest his full energies into perfecting his art. His love of wildlife, especially birds, has become a major focus of his work.
