    Une matinée déambulatoire sur les grands boulevards de Ginza avec la découverte d'une exposition des travaux du photographe Keiichi Tahara. Un artiste photographe spirituel qui imprime ses photos sur de la pierre, du verre, du tissus. Lumineusement tactile. Titre de l'exposition : "Sens de lumière". En français dans le texte. A Tokyo les références à la langue et arts français sont très courants voire très prisés. Via un subway, line 3, je vais découvrir ensuite le Old Sensoji temple dans le quartier d'Asakusabashi où se trouve aussi la flamme olympique créée par Philippe Stark. Un temple où les dévotions incessantes se réalisent dans un épais brouillard d'encens odorants. Pendant ce temps, non loin, des jeunes filles honorent leur jeunesse par des costumes et bijoux affolants en offrant leurs rires aux dieux de l'instant. Quittant cette effervescence, je rentre à mon hôtel par une longue marche qui m'entraînera à suivre de très près une séance préparatoire d'une procession incroyablement virile et qui se tiendra bientôt lors du Kuramae MIKOSHI festival. Ereinté je poursuis ma longue marche qui me ramènera à l'hôtel via le quartier Kayabacho. J'y retrouverais ce vieil homme, dos brisé, vagabond impénitent, qui m'est devenu si familier car je le vois chaque jour lorsque je passe à la galerie où sont exposées mes photos. Nous échangerons quelques mots chacun dans sa langue maternelle ! Je dormirai dans un bon lit, il dormira sur un matelas d'expédiants.

    Born in Paris, France, in October 1956, Patrick Canhan takes his first steps in Paris, in the districts of Ménilmontant. His finger will get stuck in the porcelain inkwell of his first school! That was a good start! Since 2009, Patrick Canhan has published a collection of photographics booklets entitled "UNCERTAIN DAY" dedicated to each of his improvised photographic days. Today more than 280 photographic days have given rise to 280 notebooks, published at the author's own expense. These notebooks represent his innumerable wanderings, both in France, in Europe and Asia.
