A red door has come to represent accomplishment, comfort, a place in polite society that this home is a safe place to rest and stay.

In Ireland, front doors are painted red to ward-off ghosts and evil spirits.

Some churches still paint their doors red to symbolize Jesus’ shed blood and that the area beyond these doors is sacred and holy. That protection from evil spirits is offered within the walls of the church.

The Galgos pictured in this book were safely in the hands of BAAS Galgo, at the Numancia de la Sagra Perrera (Dog Pound). They are now in their forever homes. The cry’s and barking of the dogs on the other side of this RED door, another section of the perrera, keep the interest of the Galgos. They wanted to see why they were upset and help comfort them.
