    About the Book

    Edit

As a photographer whose main focus during the past 25 years had been on wildlife and nature, and more recently, travel and architecture, I have been privileged to have visited more than 70 countries around the world in pursuit of pictures.

Where it was always my goal to produce pictures “without” the presence of man, I look back on my photographic career and ask my self, “why?” Why have I travelled to all these amazing places and not been interested in photographing the people that live in them?

Finally, in early 2011 the lights came on and I was introduced to “people” photography by several women whose work I have always admired. From that moment on, I was hooked. My focus has shifted 180 degrees—I still travel for more than six months of the year and I am now diving headlong into different cultures—Africa, Burma, Cuba, Ethiopia, Guatemala, India, Mexico, Vietnam to name a few. I cannot believe I was so blind!

As I move from one photo tour to the next, my thirst for travel and discovery becomes even greater, and as I explore this new direction that I have taken, the desire to tell a story has become stronger.

The following images are the result of my journey during the past 4 years.

Since arriving on these shores 21 years ago, Jeremy has enjoyed a roller coaster ride pursuing the American Dream. Since his early days as a graphic designer, his dream was to become a stock photographer. Riding the wave of the internet revolution in the mid 90s, he got involved with Getty Images and went on to build a successful business traveling the world and taking stock pictures. By 2005, he started collaborating with nature photographer Nancy Rotenberg, and was instrumental in setting up frequent international trips to Italy and to Mexico. He went on to lead trips to Guatemala and Costa Rica. As the developer of the Dreamteam photo tour concept, recent collaborations have included tours to Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia with co-leaders Nevada Wier, Brenda Tharp, photojournalist Alison Wright and Guatemalan-born Holly Wilmeth 2013 was his busiest year so far with 12 international trips and 2014 is proving to be the same with sold out tours for most of the year.
