    About the Book

    Edit

The Hawaiian Islands are culturally and naturally one of the most compelling tropical areas of the world. The colorful interaction of the people, landscape, and water creates diverse photographic opportunities that continue to keep us coming back over and over again.

This book is the first in a two-part series on the spectacular island of Molokai and continues a love affair with the Hawaiian Islands that began more than 35 years ago. This 2 book set provides the most comprehensive coverage of travel photography opportunities on the island available today.

Molakai is a dream come true for landscape and seascape photographers. While Moloka'i is one of the smaller islands in the Hawaiian chain, it is packed with amazing scenery that includes dramatic seascapes, lush rainforests and valleys, waterfalls, mountains, volcanoes, sand dunes, and the highest sea cliffs in the world. “Moloka'i is often called the “Most Hawaiian Island” for several reasons. One is that more people there are of Hawaiian blood than anywhere else. Another reason is that Moloka'i is decidedly undeveloped. There are no tall buildings, no fancy resorts, and only about 8000 residents on the entire island. Many people still follow the old ways of life, including surviving on the fish they catch in the ocean and the wild pigs and deer they hunt on the range.

The book is intended to be useful to multiple audiences - tourists wanting to make the most of the time available to them when visiting the island, photographers and artists wanting to identify the best locations to create great images, those wanting to continuously improve their photography, and travelers wanting a high-quality keepsake remembrance of Molakai.

The photographs in this two-volume set are of the highest quality and printed on high end photo paper. Each photo is accompanied by detailed information about camera settings. Information and tips about composition and technique are often provided as well.
