About the Book
Würzburg is a city that deserves to be better known. An independent episcopal principality until 1803, its history was dominated by prince-bishops who built one of the great palaces of Europe. Reduced to rubble in 1945, modern Würzburg is also a miracle of post-war restoration.

I am originally from the English Black Country near Wolverhampton, but have lived and worked for many years in Bristol, where I taught German and French in a large independent school. I also helped run public exams and was a “in-house” photographer before retiring in 2018. Apart from photography, I like travel, and have a season ticket at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
