About the Creator
Keri Pickett's lifes’ work centers on family and community often focusing on those in the margins of society or revealing a struggle to right a wrong. She is the Co-Director/DP/Editor for FINDING HER BEAT (88 minutes, 2022), the Producer/Director/DP for both FIRST DAUGHTER AND THE BLACK SNAKE, (94 minutes, 2017) and THE FABULOUS ICE AGE, (72 minutes, 2013), a "Netflix Original" distributed in 10 languages. Pickett also directed the short film NO MORE PIPELINE BLUES (ON THIS LAND WHERE WE BELONG) (5 minutes, 2020.) Pickett is the author of “Love in the 90s”, (Warner Books, 1995), “FAERIES” (Aperture, 2000) and “Saving Body & Soul; The Mission of Mary Jo Copeland, texts by Margaret Nelson, Photographs by Keri Pickett” (Shaw Books, 2004) including fellowships from the National Endowment for Arts, McKnight, Jerome and Bush Foundations. She is a member of Film Fatales.
