Cleve and Joyce were attending a special program at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, the summer of 1968. Directions were given to introduce your neighbor to the class. A confused discussion was held, Cleve said that he was to introduce Joyce, and Joyce said that she was to introduce Cleve. The confusion led to a movie in September, a dinner in October, a marriage proposal on October 31st, meeting of families in November, and a wedding at Antioch Baptist Church in Newton, Alabama on December 28, 1968.
