Using old family records, stories and pictures, this book tells the history of the Ableson and Holmberg families in Canada: their ancestors’ lives in Europe as far back as the 17th century, their immigration from England and Sweden in the mid 19th century, and homesteading in Korah Township (Sault Ste Marie, ON). Its primary focus is on the household of William Ableson – son of Robert and Sarah (Hutcheson) Ableson – and Jennie Holmberg – daughter of Charles (Karl Johansson) and Christina (Stina Cajsa Larsdotter) Holmberg – concluding in the early 1950’s as their four children move again to new communities.
The book has been well received by immediate family members. Like other families we have lost important connections with several branches. I am making the book available to interested extended family members in the hopes that this will help us reconnect, and to give everyone access to the information it contains.
