There are Gnomes in Wastwater so the story goes....
The story explores the relationship of Wastwater to the nuclear industry and questions the sanity of new build when cooling the existing waste requires 4 million gallons of fresh water from Britain's Favourite View every single day.
The Norwegian government commissioned a report which outlined the consequences of a sustained stoppage of water to the cooling tanks. On the 1st of April 2009 there was a stoppage of cooling water to the high level liquid waste tanks which was an incident described as being "hours away from catastrophe." Since then there have been similar 'incidents.'
The Gnomes' watery home is being threatened by the Noxious monster.. Gridlocklove has said (with a nod and a wink) "The Noxious Monster is Green and Good." He says this while the Noxious Monster poisons the Gridlock children.
