    About the Book

    Edit

Skototropism is a photographic journey that overturns the traditional logic of vision. Inspired by the botanical phenomenon where certain plants seek darkness instead of light, Berta Viteri transforms this impulse into a visual and philosophical stance. These images do not pursue clarity or order; they move toward what light cannot reveal—the hidden, impenetrable zone of the forest—where black is not absence but matter, root, origin.
Through lines, fractures, and glimmers emerging from silence, photography ceases to explain and begins to question, evoking archetypes and deep memory. Skototropism invites us to reconsider our gaze: to follow shadow and discover that what escapes light is not emptiness, but density, vertigo, thought.

    Visione Oltre
