This booklet is about Berta den Haan's life in Holland and a compilation of her memories and the memories of her family history and immigrating to Canada. Since she was just 5 1/2 when she left Holland, her own memory of her experiences are limited. Various family members and letters contributed to the creation of this book. Her mother was great at telling stories of what had happened. Sometimes Berta didn’t know if she remembered something because her mother told it to her and her siblings so often, or if Berta had her own memory of the event. The excepts from letters in this volume have affirmed some of those memories and/or added detail.
