About the Book
Diagnosed with ALS in 2019, Brandy Trigona was always an artist at heart. When the disease took away the ability to use her hands, a therapist recommended the assistive devices that have allowed her to paint again. Using an iPad, a wireless head mouse that moves the cursor when she moves her head, and a mouth-activated bite switch, Brandy painstakingly creates beautiful works of art, reveling in the joy that a true artist feels when they are creating. It is not only her images that draw you in, but also the words she pairs with them that illustrate her compassion, indominable spirit and her joy, despite the afflictions of this insidious disease. This book is a selection of works that document Brandy’s journey through ALS.
