About the Book
This book was a joint venture created by the authors, Nancy Egan and Jeff Waters to meet the requirements for a Santa Fe Community College class, Special Photographic Projects in the Spring of 2025.
The photos, taken by Jeff, were inspired by the high contrast, saturated colors, and tight crops in Edward Hopper’s paintings. The locations are Santa Fe unseen, the liquor stores, laundromats, burrito stands, trailer parks and the like that we see, but don’t see. Seeking a subject, Jeff recruited Nancy to put on a blond wig and assume the character of Blondie.
Together, they crafted the story line of Blondie’s sad day and difficult decision. Nancy put the story into words and added the rich detail that brings it to life.
