About the Book
Capt. Carrie Hoza served in Iraq in 2004-2005. The assignment was driving 40-ton truckloads of JP8 jet fuel around the country. Her platoon ran missions one after another and then pressed the repeat button. Tragedy stuck and soldiers were injured. Horrifically, some died. Her troops grieved deeply and then rallied to hit the roads of the Sunni Triangle all over again.
During that time, she wrote emails to her family who forwarded them to a wide circle of friends. Carrie's letters gave a picture of the lives of those serving and how they formed bonds of friendship while serving in daily danger.
