Jasmine Hayes lives in a plain suburban neighborhood in a flat above her uncle’s small, quiet bookshop. That is until tragedy strikes, in the form of her uncle’s death. At first it seems as if he had died of a heart attack, but after reading a note from him, Jasmine discovers the truth: that he sacrificed himself to stop an evil potion created by the evil sorceress by the name of Onyx. On top of that, he reveals that her dad - who she believed was dead - is still alive, captured by Onyx. Jasmine embarks on a quest into Phantausia, to find the last of her family, while Onyx is on a quest to find her.
