"FREEDOM PROJECT KOLEKCJA", May 31 - July 6, 2025
at the MassArt x SoWa Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts.
FREEDOM PROJECT KOLEKCJA is a response to crises and ongoing global conflicts humanity is facing today. Artists were invited to speak up on issues related to human rights, war, violence, social and racial injustice. The mission of this important and timely project is to educate and to create a dialogue between the viewer and the artist in this crucial time of human history.
The collection features artworks created by international artists from 22 countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Peru, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, UK, USA, and Zimbabwe working in: book art, calligraphy, collage, drawing, fiber art, handmade paper, mixed media, painting, photography, poster design.
About the Creator
Born in Warsaw, Poland Ania Gilmore received BFA with honors from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, studied printmaking, book arts and fibers at the Rhode Island School of Design, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine. Her portfolio includes works on paper, artist books, fiber art and mixed-media. Ania is a Co-Founder of New England Book Artists. She worked as an Educator and an Independent Curator in the US and internationally. Her works were shown and awarded in several Museums and Publications including Hangaram Art Museum, Bojagi Forum, Chojun Textile & Quilt Art Museum in Seoul, Korea, From Lausanne to Beijing International Fiber Art Biennale in Tsinghua University Art Museum in Beijing, China, Musashino Art University Museum in Tokyo, Japan, New Bedford Art Museum, Fitchburg Art Museum, Fuller Craft Museum, Art New England, Fiber Art Now, Artistry in Fiber, Artscope, and The Creators of the Image of Polonia.
