About the Book
Neil Eckersley, a two-time Olympian and Olympic medalist, has partnered with illustrator Anita Chamberlain to create an inspiring book. Through Neil’s poetic words and Anita’s stunning illustrations, the book tells Neil’s remarkable story—from his struggles with dyslexia as a child to achieving his dreams as an Olympian, medalist, and now an Olympic artist.
Growing up with dyslexia was challenging for Neil. Often feeling misunderstood, he had to work twice as hard to overcome the obstacles it presented. As a child, he would retreat into his green parka jacket, zipping it up to shield himself from the world. Yet, instead of letting these difficulties define him, Neil channeled his determination and creativity to forge a path to success. His journey is a testament to how challenges can be transformed into stepping stones to greatness.
Together, Neil and Anita have crafted a vivid and engaging book that not only shares Neil’s story but also delivers a powerful message of hope and inspiration for readers of all ages.
