The book of Psalms is a revered portion of Scripture. In its 150 chapters, a wide variety of topics are discussed in various forms of hymns, songs, and prayers. These pages are replete with the attributes of our Heavenly Father, Whose name is YAHWEH. The psalms give us intimations that help define Who He is and what He does for His People.
The busyness of life clouds our vision, and we sometime miss these displays of Who YAHWEH is in His creation, in His history, in His Word. Let us now explore the various attributes of God the Father, as found in the book of Psalms. While all of Scripture help us to understand YAHWEH better, this small portion of Scripture, a single book, is a rich treasury of many of these attributes.
