About the Creator
Janos and Georgina are husband and wife and physician-scientists at the Department of Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of Southern California. They have a lifelong interest in curing chronic kidney disease. In their research, they use a special microscopy technique to look inside living organs, such as the kidney and the brain, and acquire visual clues on how the healthy organ functions, how disease develops, and what is the mechanism of action of newly developed drugs. In their recently published book, they combine art and science and share a unique collection of images of the kidney and brain to highlight the beautiful structure of these organs and raise awareness of kidney disease.
