    About the Book

    Edit

    “Bring A Camera”.
    Always.
You never know what might need to be photographed before it vanishes from view. “The best camera is the one you have with you”, they say. “They?” I’m not sure who "they" are, but “they” are right.
For me, many times a Holga has been perfect for my needs. Holgas are less-than-precise instruments; they leak light, they don’t really focus (but give a good impression occasionally), will come apart in your hands, only have one shutter speed, create double exposures whether you meant to or not, allow dust and scratches to occur at random. Despite all those quirks, or because of them and other idiosyncrasies, they are a joy to use! There is something so magical, so mystical, about having the unknown possibilities a Holga will “gift” you with, if you open your imagination to them. This book/magazine is a collection of 223 photographs taken with Holga cameras - frail and fault-prone fantastic plastic boxes fitted with an “Optical Lens” (read "Plastic").

I love my Holgas. I hope you like the gifts they’ve given me.
