About the Book
“New Spøttrup Farm - The story of a Danish West Jutland cattle ranch” is the story about the cattle trade with Germany and England that was so vital for Northwest Jutland, and about life on a farm in Jutland and the people who lived here over the past 150 years.
The book also talks about Niels Breinholt, who was among the well-known cattle traders of the 19th century. He owned Spøttrup Castle for a number of years, and in 1870 he built the cattle ranch, New Spøttrup Farm, by the beach meadows of the Limfjord in Denmark.
New Spøttrup Farm has undergone significant restoration, conservation and maintenance work since 2007.
