Rafael Fuchs is a world-renowned photographer and mixed-media artist based in NY.
His on-going project “Women R Beautiful” started in the 80s.
The title is a homage to the book “Women Are Beautiful” by Garry Winogrand (1975).
Fuchs has been exploring the same topic, with fresh and challenging perspectives.

This book is a special ART EDITION of just 50 BOOKS.
Printed on a gorgeous Mohawk superfine eggshell paper, with 112 pages. It includes 57 portraits and 4 contact-sheets .

Rafael's portraits of women are created with a Democratic Eye , whether it’s a celebrity figure or your "next door neighbor” ; whether it’s done in a studio or location , and whether he’s using digital or analog photography methods.
This book “Women R Beautiful” Volume II (2021) is a sequel to the book bushwick "Women R Beautiful” Volume I (2019), and an expansion of his portraiture work geographically as well as the photographic process itself.
You can find images that were taken back in the 80s, with a polaroid Pos-neg film type, you can see special printing techniques done with photographic chemicals , as well as digital photographs.
