Frog is the youngest and a little paranoid. Living on the edge of the desert, he worries that being the smallest (and slowest) makes him ideal bait for wild creatures.



Ben is one of the twins. Science is his main thing. If he’s feeling generous, he might let Frog help out with dissections. Oldest brother Mad just doesn’t seem to fit in. Frog says he’s the evil twin. And Mad isn’t even his real name - what’s up with that? But Mad is a genius.



Gert carries Dad’s hopes for sporting glory. The trouble is, Gert thinks Dad’s a dud. And Gert’s having trouble with his batting swing, and he has to help the new Japanese girl with her homework after school.
