Ryan Steed is a Southern photographer currently residing in Memphis, Tennessee, whose emphasis lies in documentary and social commentary photography. His interests range from analog photographic processes to modern digital media. He has published and shown work through Arkansas State University, Society for Photographic Education, Medicine Factory and the Southern Tenant Farmers Museum. He also has work published and credited with Amnesty International, Library of Congress and Epilogue Magazine. Steed’s first love lies in black and white documentary photography. Other known interests are whiskey, dive bars and rural towns. Steed will continue his work with the Cush foundation by departing for the South Sudan with Vicki Rampley and the men of the Cush Foundation in May of 2010.
